Campus Placements Hi, Welcome
to the world of placements. If u are an engineer and preparing for
placements in your college than you are at the right place. Some
category of students
become very excited about placements, whereas other category of students
never bother about that. Best state of student is the one which is
inbetween these two extreme states.Let me tell you one mystry of campus
placements. It follows uncertainity principle. You simple cannot predict
which student will get which company.A university topper may end up his
career in low paying jobs and a 60+ percentile student may be earning
huge money in some reputed MNC.The point here is you never know which
company you r gonna marry. So what is the best policy while you enter the festival of campus placements. It is”Do your Best and Leave the rest” Ok,let me come to the point .I will give you FIVE pUnch Principles that will help you to accelerate you placement performance you
need to be very strong in aptitude.Make sure you have finished your
exercises from R.S Agarwal book. This is enough to clear most of the
companies. For very few companies you need to go one step further ,by
reading and practising the aptitude of CAT level. For 90% of companies,
aptitude would be simple.Just you need to be well versed with the basic
logic behind the problems. Here I confine
myself to computer, electronics and similar streams. For these streams
the knowledge of C language is very important.First refresh your C
basics from general books like “Let Us C” by yeshwant kanetkar or books
of Balguruswamy.Once you are done with this start practicing the
questions from book “Test your C skills” by yeshwant kanetkar. While
you were solving problems from this book tick mark all the problems
which you feel are unique problems. Do make a collection such questions
.In placements you will come across unique C problems very frequently. If
you are not from software stream, but attending the interview of some
software company than they will sometime test your knowledge of your
straem. If the person who is taking interview is from the same branch
than you may
get some indepth questions. So be prepared about this.If the company has
openings for your branch than you need to be perfect in your basics. Its
a great wonder that most the interview questions would be basics of our
course. So make sure you have a strong basic foundation. Soft Skills.Few companies give more importance to soft skills than technical knowledge. Apart from Speaking fluent English you should also speak with confidence and enthusiasm. Coming
to the human aspect of placement preparartion, your state of mind
should be as said by Krishna in Bhagavad Geeta."You have the right to
work but have no right on their results"
ALL THE BEST:)
