When Rama came he brought Hanuman with him, When Krishna came he brought Arjuna with him, When Chanakya came he brought Chandragupta with him, When Sri Ramakrishna came he brought Swami Vivekananda with him…..this list goes on.
The Guru-Shishya Parampara is one of the remarkable glories of Indian Customs and Culture which is impossible to see this on any other part of the globe.
It was the time when India or Bharata was divided into many janpads.And these janpads where fighting among themselves to gain the power of neighbouring territories.There was a lack feeling of oneness among the various janpads which proved to be one of the greatest threat to the indian subcontinent from the other nations.
"From Kashmir to KanyaKumari its a one India , I will never allow anyone to invade my motherland" says the little chandragupta as he plays the role of King among his friends.Chanakya who was just passing by, overheard this conversation of Chandragupta and his little friends and got very much impressed by the thoughts of little Chandragupta.From that day he accepted chandragupta as his disciple and took him to the college of Takshshila.Chanakya was a professor of ArthaShastra in Takshashila.He did his graduation in the same college.Seeing his brilliant intelligence, the management of Takshashila decided to appoint chanakya as a professor of their institute.
Chandragupta was getting the world class education from the college as well as from his guru personally in the fields of politics and economics.Chanakya was preparing Chandragupta to become one of the greatest King of Bharat who will unite the entire country and protect it from the foriegn invasions.
Alaxander the Great reached the other side of Sindu sagar in his journey of conquering the world.The king of Takshashila being annoyed by his neighbour Kingdoms joined hands with Alaxander and opened the gates of India for him to conquer.Many kingdoms fought with the Alaxander army but failed .If all Janpads had joined their hands and fought against the Alaxander he would not have conquered India.
Seeing these injustice happening to the motherland Chanakya approaches King Nanda of PataliPutra (Magadha Dynasty).Nanda King was a very irresponsible emperor, spending most of his time in sensual pleasures.When Chanakya came to him with a proposal to fight against Alaxander by joning hands with other janpads , he not only declined to help but he ridiculed chanakya.From that day chanakya made his mind of getting chandragupta to the throne of Magadha dynasty and uniting entire india to fight against the foriegners.
And the plan he makes to throw out the Nanda from his throne and defeating the Alaxander army is marvellous . At the end chandragupta establishes the Maurya Empire and brings the entire India under the one roof.
Few months back i saw a serial chanakya on my PC.Daily i used to sit for 4-5 hrs watching this serial.Its such a wonderful peice of art that you will never feel bored watching it.Its dialogues are mind blowing and acting of chanakya will touch your mind.One will wonder how during that time people had such a great love for their motherland.
